April 26, 2009

It’s Sunday, 1:22 a.m. right now. What are you doing?

I was at the ASCAP Expo all weekend.  What a beautiful, down-to-earth and inspirational event.  To be surrounded by that much talent giving the kind of no-bullshit advice is, well, I can’t even find a word for it.  And it had almost nothing to do with commerce! I feel lucky, but luckier than most attendees since I didn’t have to fork over the $400+ price tag.

As a networking whore, I was pressured by the many great musical friendships I made these past 48 hours to attend closing ceremonies.

But too much talking and mingling had already gone on.  I passed.  There is much work to do.

Richard Marx, Grand Ballroom — Friday, 2:59 p.m.:

Play.

I’ll be back on the party scene when this is done.  Perhaps you’ll be invited.

Back to “Song #11.”
